The session will start off with a meet & greet while folks arrive. Once guests are present the host will welcome everyone to the space, introduce me, and then I’ll take the reins from there. I’ll chat for a bit about my artistic / entrepreneurial journey so folks have a little more context about me.
Then we’ll get right into painting! Our backgrounds of the canvasses will be started first. They need about 10-20 minutes to dry.
Once those are dry we’re going to use carbon paper to transfer an eagle feather design that I’m supplying, to the canvas. The transfer happens when we trace over the design with pencil. I find that this method “takes the edge off” for folks that are intimidated by free-handing designs.
From there we’ll take the transfer paper off, and we can begin to paint the design, adding colour as we go. This is where the painting “zen” typically happens where folks can get really focussed, quiet, lose track of time and really enjoy the process. This can also be a time where great / meaningful conversations can happen too, depending on the crowd.
Some people will finish up probably before the 2 hours is up, but are totally welcome to stick around!
